OceanEdge built the TimeJar app as a free app with an optional one-time premium upgrade. This SERVICE is provided by OceanEdge at no cost for its basic features and is intended for use as is.
This page informs visitors regarding our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone who uses our Service.
TimeJar lets you write messages ("capsules") to be unlocked on a future date, optionally with a photo or a short voice/audio note attached. All capsule content — text, photos, and audio recordings — is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, transmit, or have access to your capsule content on any server.
TimeJar requests access to your device's microphone only when you choose to record a voice/audio note for a capsule. This permission is used solely to record and save the audio clip locally on your device as part of that capsule. We do not record audio in the background, and we do not transmit any audio recording off your device. You can decline microphone access and still use all text-based capsule features.
TimeJar offers an optional app lock feature using your device's fingerprint or face recognition, via the Android BiometricPrompt system API. When you enable this feature, authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system and secure hardware. TimeJar never receives, stores, transmits, or has access to your actual fingerprint or facial data — only a success or failure result is returned by the operating system to unlock the app.
If you attach a photo to a capsule, it is copied into the app's private local storage on your device and is not uploaded to any server. Photos remain inaccessible to other apps and are only visible within TimeJar.
The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, including your device's advertising ID (used only for optional rewarded video ads) and purchase information (used for the one-time premium upgrade). Rewarded video ads are shown only when you actively choose to watch one (for example, to unlock an extra capsule or preview a premium theme). We do not show banner or interstitial ads in this app.
Whenever you use our Service, in case of an error in the app we may collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This may include your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, and the time and date of your use of the Service.
This Service does not use cookies explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries (such as AdMob) that use identifiers similar to cookies to serve ads and measure performance.
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
These third parties may have access to limited technical information (such as advertising ID or purchase tokens) only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use this information for any other purpose. They do not have access to your capsule content, photos, or audio notes, which remain stored locally on your device.
This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to remove it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Because all capsule content (text, photos, audio notes) is stored locally on your device, you can permanently delete this data at any time by deleting individual capsules within the app, or by uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data.
We value your trust in providing us your information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, including relying on your device's own secure storage and biometric hardware where applicable. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
